Ashish has extensive experience in software development
and related technologies. Prior to joining Woodside Fund, he was
an active advisor and investor in several information technology
companies, including Daksh, acquired by IBM for $160 million; Bodha, acquired by Peregrine; Obongo, acquired by AOL; and Pointcross. Ashish was Founder, Vice President
of Engineering, and Director of Junglee Corporation, a data integration
software company. Junglee was an early pioneer of the web services
business model and was acquired by Amazon.com for $230 million in
1998. Ashish was responsible for engineering and operations, and
he helped grow the company from 5 to 70 people. Before Junglee,
Ashish was Senior Member of Technical Staff at Oracle Corporation,
and also held technical research positions at IBM and Stanford University.
He is the holder of seven patents and has written and presented
numerous papers at international conferences, including a book published
by MIT Press. Ashish has a Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford
University and a B.A. in computer science from the Indian Institute
of Technology at Kanpur, where he was awarded the President's Gold
Medal.
In addition to traveling, Ashish likes watching theater,
playing racquet sports, and woodworking.
