Woodside Fund Invests In CPlane,
a Leading Provider of Service Control and Provisioning Systems For
Next-gen Carriers
Redwood Shores, CA -- Woodside Fund has invested $5 million
in CPlane, Inc., a leading provider of service control and provisioning
systems for next generation telecommunications carrier networks.
Woodside Fund’s investment is part of a $25 million Series C round
led by Pequot Capital Management. Other investors in this
round include Amerindo Investments and prior investors ONSET Ventures
and CMEA Ventures.
CPlane offers carriers and service providers a new control framework
through which they can deliver and profitably operate an increasingly
large and complex network. CPlane’s telecommunications carrier
service and control software platform unlocks new revenue from a
multi-vendor, multi-technology network with a unified, distributed
framework, which allows constant innovation in the network.
It offers distributed, real-time control of network resources, is
technology independent, works with any vendor’s equipment, and is
not integrated within the network element.
Woodside Fund Partner Daniel H. Ahn states, “Woodside Fund believes
in CPlane’s fundamentally new vision and approach to network control
and service deployment.” Adds Ahn, “We are pleased to be working
closely with CPlane’s talented and creative management team in providing
a solution to a major service provider need -- a superior means
to optimize and leverage the resources of the network.”
Nelu Mihai, President and CEO of CPlane remarked, “We are
very pleased to have Woodside Fund as an investment partner.
They understand our industry and will add great value to our company.
This round of funding will help us accelerate the delivery of our
products to market, and expand the company’s engineering and marketing
teams.” Founded in 1998, CPlane is based in Los Altos, California
with Canadian offices in Ottawa and Montreal.
